Joe Banet’s creative journey began in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana, where his passion for sculpting, sketching, and painting often eclipsed traditional schoolwork. A lifelong dream to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design took an unexpected detour when Joe enrolled in the culinary program at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky. But art was never far from his heart—after all, the culinary world is its own vibrant canvas.
Throughout his career, Joe honed his culinary craft in kitchens across Louisville, Dallas, and Los Angeles, immersing himself in a kaleidoscope of cuisines and cultures. Yet, in January 2024, his hands found their way back to clay—a medium he had fallen in love with during high school ceramics classes. Rediscovering the joy and tactile satisfaction of working with clay, Joe felt a deep creative spark reignite.
This rekindled passion led him to make a bold leap, leaving the high-energy restaurant world to fully embrace his artistic calling. Today, Joe channels his rich tapestry of experiences into every piece he sculpts, infusing his love for ceramics with a distinctive and personal touch.
